New Voter ID Laws

New in 2023 is that North Carolina voters will be asked to show an acceptable photo ID to cast a ballot. IDs must be unexpired or expired less than one year. ID can be expired for more time after your 65th birthday.

Comprehensive detail regarding accepted IDs, exceptions, how to obtain free voter IDs, and how these ID rules apply to absentee voters is available on the Voter ID page of the NC State Board of Elections.

Polling Place Changes

Election Day is November 7, 2023. If you wait until Election Day to vote, you have to appear at your designated polling place to cast a ballot. Note that many Apex precincts have been assigned a new polling place! Pay special attention to the new Wake County Voter Card you will have received by mail. Or look up your voter registration email on the NC State Board of Elections Voter Search page.
